Thank You

Thank You

A Poem by Madeleine Celeste
"

Kylie I know you're going to critique the title so just send me better title ideas and I'll change it but THIS GOES OUT TO YOU AND OTHERS SO enjoy

"
I may have started a bit of a poetry craze in my grade,
With incessant ding noises letting me know that another person had found me and wanted to be my friend

But I've known these people for either a little bit or nearly all my life,
And what they write is so raw, and so full of things I didn't know they felt

I've had people come up and thank me, people I don't really know well.
Thanking me for introducing poetry to them.

And even though I'm in awe that they know me, I have to laugh, because I've realized
That no, you introduced me to yourself. The realest you.

It's like meeting these people for the first time,
Realizing that we have some sort of connection, some similarity, whether we like it or not.

I mean, some people did just make contests with impossibly high stakes and grand prizes they have no intent to give,
But hey, you're in a poetic environment willingly. Anything can happen.

Some people, some poems have made me clutch my chest and cry
Because they're so, so strong and I never assumed they were going through anything like that

The people around me are so much closer to pain and love and frustration and FEELING
Which I never could have guessed, although I should have known it.

It's like we're all opening up, almost physically
And I see all of these hearts out in the open

These words, these feelings, this sheer and utter poetry
Have given me a new perspective.

Maddie I am also honored that you would even think to parsley dedicate a poem to me considering how much of an effect your (AMAZING!) writing has on me. Thank you for letting me deeper into your mind and what makes your boat float. I just have to say I could't ask for better friends.

Thanks for dedicating a poem to me, I'm honored. Although I am mostly in awe of how you did it for everyone else. I have been always written poetry although you and Hazel inspired me to post it on this site. Good job mi amigo. x~

Thank you my dude.
Maddie, I don't think I've said it yet so, THANK YOU. For that first day, you told me about Writers cafe in form of telling me about a poem you wrote. I followed all this down the rabbit hole of poetry and learned to write (sort of). Thank you for letting me read your poetry, that day and thank you for listening to me fall in and out of love approximately every day in French. Without you, I would have never discovered that I love to write or this wonderful world full other supportive writers. So, yes you do deserve to be thanked
