Neutralization

Neutralization

Acid tears burn base trails
on my skin to equalize
each other out,
but it never quite seems to
do its job,
because an acid burns
as strong as a base,
and my skin does not know
the difference.

All I seem to know is the
burn, and it really doesn’t
matter the material,

but the sensation.

The tears and trails
come from you, and I ask that
you stop them soon,
because acids and bases corrode,
and I am being corroded.
