Yesterday's Silence

Yesterday's Silence

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

Yesterday has vanished
Into residual energy
A soft fluttering song
Upon the midnight wind

Disbursced in the cosmos
Soaring freely without matter
Wings silently gliding
Fluttering amongst the breeze

Yesterday's thoughts silenced
Beguiling the repetative mind
Echoing smooth memories
Of ashes laid to rest

Regrets long since vanished
Love's fuel loong ago spent
Like cigarette smoke
Swirling, then disappeared

Time takes no prisoners
Relinquishing minutes past
Resonating melodies
Vibration's cease to play

Some pains and regrets linger like unhealing wounds, never really letting us free for even a short time, the haunt us. And sometimes we can't put them to rest even if we wish too. A truly impressive poem. I love the imagery you used. Such elegant writing.

Time, a tyrant to all, in some respects...poignant and visceral love, holds a tone to each wonderfully woven line xo

This is quite the artistic work. I felt and became aware of the passage of time.
Im glad these thoughts are recorded so that I could revisit them. That appreciation
that came to me was a pleasant surprise.

Yesterday can become less painful. Can rebirth with similar places and sounds.

Unresolved issue in the past is like a splinter under our skin, it could sometimes disrupts our daily life. Wonderful piece.

Thank you. Memories can be a beautiful thing or painful. But also some memories do fade with time.

You are welcome, and I completely agree..
Some memories come back to bite us, some are a great friend in a time of loneliness and some get lost in the crowd, especially as more arrive the older we get. Great work.

They most certainly can.
Indeed it's those memories that haunt and taunt us, well done, good read.
