My Regret

My Regret

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

I know I caused you hurt
I know I caused you pain
I know I truly fucked up
Making our love corrupt

Can't change what is in the past
Ripping two hearts with that blast
Pain that gripped deep down inside
Not showing the ache, you did hide

No longer able to take it back
This love wasn't gone, now react
Great love is still within my heart
The one that only you could start

I know I caused you hurt
I know I caused you pain
I know I truly fucked up
Making our love corrupt

Walking away came hauntingly fast
It was like a shocking bomb blast
You never thought or saw  it coming
The ache completely mind numbing

I get down on my bruised bended knee
Asking will you ever completely forgive me
Will you ever trust me with your heart again
Or does it still need more time to heal and mend?

Trust is a hard thing to get back, people nowadays give it out too easily and then once it's broken, they refuse. Good poem. Expresses how people in relationships know they did something wrong, they were always keenly aware of what they were doing but once they see the consequences they regret it. I agree with the "bruised bended knee" the imagery is very nice.

Raw emotion, painfully honest, so much sorrow... This hits home so hard I cannot even describe how intensely it makes me feel. Gut-wrenching piece...

I would say that there are so many who have been on either side of this poetic thought...

That was so raw and direct in accepting responsibility and asking for redemption... that show great depth of character.

Something in a life can't be forgiven with a second chance. When you scar a young heart. Takes a long time to heal and forget. A powerful poem. Searching for forgiveness is necessary. Time heals all wounds. A excellent poem.

Amazing how much hurt we can cause even when we don't intend to. Lots of emotion in this. I does feel very sincere. Nice job with this.

I like the "on bended broken knee" phrase. Regret is painful. Good explanation of how it feels to want to change the past.

Well written. Regrets are tough. You never really get over them but, at least there is still a chance with this one. Hang in there. : )
