Murky Puddles

Murky Puddles

A Poem by PoetryEater
"

insecurities destroy us from the inside

"

Murky Puddles

she looks down in the murky water
she sees imperfection, i see someone's beautiful daughter

I ask society how this could be
why does she feel like a rain drop in a sea

a shallow sea of competition and pride
we're all walking at the same pace, but shes not in stride

so unappreciated that she thinks shes unworthy
strong and beautiful she intimidates all, even me.

no one listens to her, she wipes away the rain
eyes leaking because her insecurities induce pain

It rains and her muddy puddle becomes clear
she can finally see herself here

she has overcome her self-doubt
then she hears inaudible whispers and begins to pout

her puddle becomes dirty, again.

Ahh this is well penned with a great message. We all go through times when we feel unworthy and it can be hard to find the positives, but we must I agree. And ever time we think people are talking about us we can be guilty of going back into your shell.
A very good poem and great flow and rhyme.
