(Tired of) Losing Battles

(Tired of) Losing Battles

A Poem by Clarisse Nanoit
"

I've needed to write this for a while. It's honestly the story of my last 2 years.

"

Walking along just fine

for so many years

until something changes,

and I'm introduced to worry

and burden.

One problem--not mine

is adopted, treated

as my very own, even

nurtured by my reeling

psyche.

Not too much to handle.

What's

one

burden?

Wait. Here comes another

and another and another.

(Weights are always being

added to the plank on

my back, you see.)

Most of the weights

are of others.

Some, however, are my very own.

Walking slowly, now. Not quite

so easy anymore...

SOMEONE

anyone

THE one

                       who'd understand

and possibly listen.

I need someone to

take a pound or two, but

there's no one who's

REMOVED

enough.

Please

                                  Someone

                                                       Help

ME.

Hmm.
palnk --plank.

And when you say what you say in your authors note...
do you feel better when you listen to others problems, instead of your own. cuz id rather hear others complain about things, that myself. i always hurt too much to deal with it rationally, or really at all. my selfburdens aren't something you can easily fix, and i can't give myself good enough advice. because im in the biggest lose-lose situation. and then i cant revive the dead... would be sweet...but no.

it's so much easier hearing others' problems, especially when you can find the words to say that makes the feel a bit better. a may not be even half the ton thats there, but its one piece that will keep them stronger a little longer, and hopefully, i or someone else can continue to help them breathe...
