Crossroads of Dreams

Chasing what I cannot reach,
regarding words that others preach.
Following what cannot be mine
and wanting things truly divine. 

Always stuck in the middle of crossroads,
Can never pick the right direction.
Always lost, and never found,
Should have left a trail on the ground.
 
Trying to uncover my destiny,
searching for things impossible to see.
Wishing I could have turned out well
when there was nothing for me when I fell. 

Attempting to retrace my steps
to find out how I got in this mess.
The goals I set were far too high,
now I'm lost and not sure why.
