Descend to Darkness

Descend to Darkness

A Poem by Poetic Nuance

Into darkness does descend
This world of hateful men
The source of light, so faint is
The blaze from the beast's den.

Cruel trampling of innocent
Heavens rend with fearful cries,
No sign of hominal repent
Or shame as virtue dies.

The flow of humane traditions
That once bred justice and truth,
Has turned to vile doctrines
Spewing venom with its froth.

As humanity lay hanging
On the vile tree of despair
With gloomy song-a-humming,
Evil swings forth with flair.
