Desert Rose: Part 3

Desert Rose: Part 3

A Poem by PP
"

This one is called 'The Rising'...

"
Another night
It's her pride
In the desert she rose
To a great good height..
One foot-step after another
miles to conquer
There she goes again
Unaware of what is waiting in the end..
Not even one gallant man
ever known to desert tribes
Have returned alive
From the pastures where heaven confronts
In orbital display over The land of the Unknown..
There they hold fortunes of every man, women and child
In their circular stride the planets revolve
Whizzing up each one's life
as they go along..
There she was with terrible anticipation
Her future they behold
of the coming to know..
She has to touch their soul..
Protect her own from being intertwined
with many others
That live within..
The road to the revelation
Is a game of no faint heart..
A struggle that can only be felt
It is an unseen battle..
Pain of dying men
Sorrows of centuries
Treasures and luxuries
She will walk past them all..
of all the consuming feelings
she has to guard her own...
The ghost lights will bear
The vision of her goal:
Her task is to follow the ghost
Let not a spec of thought touch past her imagination..
Or otherwise;
She will be forever trapped
In somebody else's world..
Sucked into and carried away
to somewhere no one knows of..

This one is a beautiful display of how this person rises through everything she is facing and seeks to find her own way, lest she be "forever trapped/In somebody else's world.." I like the theme of freedom and the search for identity that you have built into this series of poems.

Thank you Jack..cross fertilization of artistry I guess :)
I very much like the idea of writing a series of poems, something I have up to now not tried, being very (to put it badly, jumpy in my choice of themes). You are doing very well, the style. the imagery all fits together well, this is a project doing very nicely !

I haven`t read the other two parts yet, Prathama, but I don`t think I need to before I form any impression, though I may be way off in my interpretation....first, that you have produced a many-layered reflection of isolation, both personal and political, based on a conviction that contact will somehow contaminate. Your analogy seems to remove your subject to an orbit (maybe the moon?) In any case, I love the poem and the images it creates. P.
