Wanting Ignorance

Wanting Ignorance

A Poem by preoccupied
"

I would love not to care but that wouldn't necessarily be fair.

"

i feel like you could benefit from ignorance
nothing to cause you to flinch
blindly feeling, not giving much care
you would never think that what you did made a difference

while i am here overthinking my every breath
like anything i said could be sudden death
the postman never knows of what he delivers
but that night he still slept

ignorance is bliss, an almost roughneck
until it makes someone an everlasting wreck
i should be glad i have the ability to feel
therefore, i willingly take the check

x

If you don't mind my saying so, you have a couple of tense oddities in this piece (particularly in Stanza 2) which should be tended to, but the poem otherwise is amazing!! Well done!
