Melanin

Melanin

A Poem by prisley machiya
"

the actual skin color of different humans is affected by many substances, although the single most important substance is the pigment melanin

"

The look in your brown eyes Melanin

I can see the world can't walk in your shoes .

The way you nurture your plants to growth

I am so hopeless without you .

In this ruin we call home Melanin

There is so much beauty because of you

Stay pure like the spring of the forest .

My Lizard of the winter, you alive because you know how to survive .

Jealousy kills me Melanin

I did not want you to succeed more than me

I wanted to take care of you Melanin .

Ive matured like the squeezed western grapes

Do not be angry or bitter, The earth is too big i do not know everything

All i know is you in this world i'm too small .

Oh my Melanin your Melanin completes me

Love or hate it defines me .

Do not let anyone steal your tenderness

melanin and squeezed grapes, and thinking about all the colors of wine as a metaphor for skin tones in humans. cool.

I really love this, especially when read aloud, it sounds so nice and each line goes perfectly with the one it follows, as if they belong together :) thanks for sharing.
