Deliverance

Deliverance

A Poem by Pete
"

A love song of the almighty.

"
Image result for eternity

We wander the wilderness.
Out of water in the desert.
Lost at sea.
Tossed about by storms.
Stranded with serpents.
Fighting ferocious flesh.
Tempted and tormented.
Weighed down by albatrosses 'round our necks.
Dragging our crosses.
Searching for a proverb.
A needle in a haystack.
Three rusty nails buried deeply.
Begging for redemption.
Hoping for hope.

Armed with nothing but our souls.
In a holster of decision.
Waving a banner of faith.
Like a prodigal son.
We wait for the sky to open wide.
So tears can rain down.
And the sun can shine again.
Rendering us right for eternity.
Welcoming us home again with ...
... deliverance ...

thanks Effie! appreciate your thoughts on this ... :)
You have painted the human quest to be free from the chains that bind us, so beautifully!

"Armed with nothing but our souls"......great line....sometimes, step one is simplicity.....void of all the baggage we tend to carry.
