Wailing Wall

Wailing Wall

A Poem by Pete

Image result for wailing wall

You can ring your calloused hands.
Stomp your fickle feet.
Beat your chastised chest.
Come on, give it your best.
'Tis where sins are confessed.
Some even pull up chairs.
No one cares.
Hopes dashed and curses flowing from your mouth like a repugnant river.
Chanting sacred prayers.
Oblivious rocks scaled in layers.
It all comes out in the wash.
Pureed like holy squash.
Wax hysterical.
The angels numerical.

Bring all the things you can't accept.
Secrets kept.
Tears wept.
Let it pour rain.
Bring on the pain.
Back up the truck and unload.
Recite the secret code.
Pleading and bleeding.
Pride comes before the fall.
So give it your all.
Step right up to the damned ...
... wailing wall ...

Amazing and true- but I think everyone needs to have their own wailing wall area at home or wherever not only wait to get there to the proper wall- how I have lain flat on my face before God crying begging sacrificing repenting- when there’s nothing else He hears- great words🌹

WOW, this is quite a sharp rebuke from you, which seems unusually blunt (for you)! With a ton of well-crafted jabs, I hear you spoofing those pious ones who seem to think religious symbols are free game, as far as pouring out our list of grievances to God. I have a lifelong beef with those who consider "praying" to be "requesting" or "complaining" to God for what's not going according to one's expectations! So I'm all over this message & your sarcastic final punch! *smile* Fondly, Margie
