No one knows where he comes from.
Let alone how long he's been there.
Worn by ancient time and weather.
Carnivorous, carnal and loaded with charisma.
Discolored by polarizing, polluted life.
Darkened with faineant fumes.
Watching in eternity from above.
Sitting chiseled on his stone perch.
Peering out from the edge as far as the eye can see.
Forever.
Timeless and tempermental.
Smugly and ugly.
Judging me in a Jacobean juggernaut.
Galvanizing and grotesque.
Sitting high upon a ledge.
Forming an unwanted hedge.
Downspout for humanity's tears.
Master of so many years.
Weighted in wretchedness.
Satan's stoic sentry.
Master of mania and mysticism.
To those at the top go the spoils.
Such it is in the eternal realm of ...
... gargoyles ...

I wrote a poem when I first started about Gargoyles but yours is far superior in every way. Being fascinated by gargoyles I enjoyed your polished write. Funny enough gargoyles are menacing to protect the owners of the household. I had two cement ones in my front porch weighing 80kgs guarding the door entrance, only to come home one day from work to find they were stolen. lol.
