Daddy, Daddy, I Wish You'd Tell Me

Daddy, Daddy, I Wish You'd Tell Me

A Poem by Kayleen
"

and Im still waiting

"

I wish I'd never left you

I wish i would have known

All the fun we could have had

If i had stayed at home

But i had wanted something

Something i could not find

Some unclear thing to fill the void

To make worthwhile that loss of time

How i wish i would have realized

I wish i would have known

The Thing that I was looking for

was waiting here at home

I promise you, my daughter

please don't ever fear

I will always be your father

I will always be right here...

Being a father that loves his daughter more than life, a daughter that has moved on with her own life, this has moved me more than I wanted to be moved right now. It makes me want to read my poem, She Seeks the Woman, which, since I'm already crying, I might as well.

Its kind of sad and sweet. I especially love the end which seemed very heartfelt and beautiful.

This is tragically beautiful. I love it. There are a couple lines that don't quite flow, but the emotion is very strong. Good write.

Being that my father left when I was five, this poem really touched me. I'm also still waiting for a reason why.

Precious... I love the way you used and referred to characters.
I will say to you in all honesty. The bond between a parent and child, brother and/or sister is more than the fleeting moments of sexual connection you have with a lover..HOWEVER!! The same bond may occur easier outside of sexual conduct between partners too.
Thats how I feel.
Nice write.
