Remind Me

Remind Me

A Poem by Shawn Purcell

Remind me,

Remind me what it means to be lonely

Remind me what it means to be free

Remind me what it means to mean

Remind me how it feels to breath

Remind me how it feels to be

A reminder of the failure you’ve been.

Remind me other things matter

Remind what those things are

Remind me why time goes exponentially faster

Remind me what honesty means

Remind me what it means to be alive

Remind my scars how it feels to bleed

Remind me.

I'm glad this is so well received. Not one of my favorites from my own work. Only goes to show that art is what it is to the viewer.

"A warning, a foretelling and a foreboding instance to where our heart and soul is often told in unspoken messages that we as the brain forget to process in our memory as we consciously accept the slip and fall to our own trap.

Whereas reminders are but just a footnote the cautious become the reckless as the reckless is the calm of our thought when we dare to remind ourselves that we are here today. It is the fault like no other that we are writing this down to our soul's memory only to be wiped by the end of the day because we are a learning vessel meant to take up on the chance and break opportunity's grace and make a blessing for ourselves.

That is the reminder of our life. We are a learning vessel and what we know longer it will be taught to us in alternate ways where our heart and soul will ready itself and catch us when we fall again. This is the ultimate reminder."

Way I saw it.
