What particularly stands about about this piece is how, deriving my assumption from the positive frame of mind from which you seem to write poetry from, you say you feel your thoughts are running uphill, an allegory to the common association with elevation meaning some form of positivity; in this, I suspect optimism. Your thoughts run uphill to a steep cliff from which you fall off of, and the higher up your thoughts manage to drawl themselves up to, the deeper the peril of the situation when you plummet downwards. Yet, you find an odd sense of comfort knowing that this happens, questioning if you'll be happy by taking refuge in a cave where no running nor falling need ever happen; a place shrouded in mediocrity and boredom.

Great write, poet will never will be satisfied with mediocrity as the goal is way high even if it is difficult, may be the poet may be haunted as he can not settle with his own thoughts and goals, but doubt he will be satisfied with average or below average, only my reflections, can be right or wrong, enjoyed
This actually sounds like the writing process! I like how you captured it in so few words. But of course this could allude to many things. That limbo can be exasperating indeed. :)
Good write, you're one of the few who writes short ones on here.

I see it as a good thing because you manage to get your point thru in few words.
