My Poem is Geometry
surgical lines draw
coordinating parallels on
metaphorical axis
protracting angles
mesmerize my complex balance
of X and Y
internal compilations combust in
black and white my
pointed mind abstactions
obsolete
verbal gyrations this
body of evidence
twist and turn

my poem is geometry
and very hard to learn

I loved geometry becuz defining space and objects is tangible, but algebra felt so damn meaningless with x's and y's & no concrete answers! I love your creativity in picking such a relatable idea to write a poem about! I love the way your mathematical terms could apply to many possibilities thru-out life, far from the buttons of any calculator! *smile* Hope your holiday season is sizzling with joy & good eats! I also hope this is a sign you're posting new writing more lately . . . my attendance has been sketchy, but I haven't seen you posting too much for a bit & we miss you! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like the vocabulary and flow of this piece.
Having so many multi-syllabic words in close succession (particularly in the first few sections) make this fun to read aloud in my opinion!
I also like the feel / flow of the final two lines.
A fun, creative poem.

Not into math but poetry makes much
more interesting I imagine it could be turned
into something romantic and sexy and play
around with the words and numbers.

It's my mood and where
my imagination is lately
But this wasn't boring at
all.

Nicely penned my
friend this has
a very sexy charm
to it👍❤😊

You're very welcome ☺ my friend 😁👍 I truly enjoyed reading it.
Trying to see what angle you're coming from here.
If I start in pub X, move onto pub Y, will I be pie eyed squared, or just GE-O-ME-T-RY.

Indeed it’s all about the lines! How they join with other lines! Not forgetting counting those syllables!
Yes word power relies on maths not forgetting the structure. I see the curves in your writing.

Happy New Year to you. :-)
Unique concept! I like how you relate geometry to poetry and to the struggles of life itself. I wonder if this could have been longer because the concept was so complex? Great read!

dear E... interesting that I loved Geometry in high school and managed to use a contractor as I tend to be artistic. However I never could get the drift of Algebra ... Margie and I have that in common and other things also. fondly, Pat
