Seedlings

Seedlings

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Exterminate.

forest rainbow leaves, fall and
open thickened skins to winter
brittle arms creak ........ moan

grey red-brown coyote
tip toe trotting

another weaving thread
quick eyes glancing back

                                                                   gone
Solastalgia shackle shaking
shadow tree trunks pin drop silence
coyote pin ball clanging

clinging
ringing
"...the bells the bells the bells"

She decanted the best of me.

even a crooked tree
reaches skyward

moon and brown
muley eyes saccade

quivering a nightmare

rewilding stubborn as
an outrage

Outrage

alluring dark temptations

erase

Erased.

Dear Mr.E, sometimes we don't need to understand all the meanings of the written words, but to dwell and feel, overwhelmingly feel... the rhythm of Your lines stuck in my head, somewhere there You spoke to me of deep loss and deep pain, when I reached this "She decanted the best of me." with the important dot "." of it, I felt a little twinge in my heart, as if I was waiting to read this, for me this was You speaking to, of and for nature as "Your" nature, as if She is Your beloved one, in all the seasons, times, days or nights, You believe in her, and that she can rebirth, always she can.

The title 'Seedlings' made me think of spring time
forest rainbow leaves, said Autumn
Yes some plants do shed seeds when the leaves are falling to protect and nurture them through the cruel winter
The coyote creeping through the forest, foraging seeking a quick meal
Underneath the crooked trees with upwards reaching limbs

I really wish I was as good at free verse as you happen to be. All your poems are so visually appealing, even the sequence of the letters feels so aesthetically pleasing.

"even a crooked tree
reaches skyward"--really liked this line.

This could be a metaphor for a relationship, where one takes away the very best in the other. I like how the poem ends at a cheerful note of forgetfulness, even after delving onto such dark roads. It could also be interpreted as the forest being a synecdoche for Mother Nature, and the relationship being that with humans.
Either ways, I enjoy the abstract feel of the poem. Although it's ominous and bleak at first, it ends at a relatively hopeful note.

hi Moonie!!
The respect and love of nature, wildlife, the harmony of earth and the planet around us. Getting attacked and eroded from all directions. Even the oceans, forests and beaches. Wonderful dedication towards our planet we so badly mistreated. Instead of admiration and respect and help and support more. Instead of plunder and take.

'Seedlings'
Einstien Noodle,
This was a rare experience as I pondered the realities of natural colors of a season. Earthy, creatures living..for now. Human, struggles within life too. Looking for a place and maybe not knowing what will come? A very descriptive and personal one from a mind which sees. Thanks for sharing.

Ok this one took me on a journey. No doubting that. My first juvenile image was of a Dalek! Then I saw man's destruction of his environment with the coyote as a symbol for even the strongest wildlife having to follow man's progress. Then the word 'Solastalgia' jumped out and gave me Darwinist thoughts of evolution and the earth's eventual revenge for man's misdemeanors. Hence the 'saccade' as he succumbs to his eventual fate. Great words, wonderful abstract food for thought!

this is like feeling the cold dark forest of pain surrounding us after a breakup...and that hope that we will find nourishment in and with another...i really like the "rewilding"
and to me...that is being alone again, foraging for love...and trying to erase the darkness surrounding us emotionally.
this is really descriptive and hard hitting.

The earth speaks to me here. She’s in a dark mood. Perhaps outraged...Shorn of her foliage, she stands bare and beautiful, scorning all creatures in this, her darkest phase. Trees as shadows stand hushed in reverence of her rage. I could relate to your words at a deeper level here, one that has no words, only a spiritual element 💕

It seems like just yesterday I looked at all the Fall leaves lying under trees in our expansive yard... knowing that they would nourish the earth... and now they are covered with snow that will quench the thirst of the earth.
