Death

Death

A Poem by Rachael Rainbow

Death was alluring to see
Looking at me,
With his big, big eyes he couldn't hide
His lips spread wide
With a smile, his lips blood-red
Oh, how those lips haunted my dreams, as I slept in bed!
Those lips I longed to kiss
But oh, I knew, how much I would miss.
My days would be long until I would be in his arms
My nights lonely without his charms
Looking into those vast black eyes
Those eyes that have seen all the world and all lies
In fact, I was spending all my life i
Just waiting to see him.
But no, I was not patient enough to wait,
I made a rope necklace
I made it on the branch of a tree
Slipped it over my head
And jumped down
Into the arms of my love.
Death's cold arms took me
And touched me all over,
Taking me into his world
Leaving behind the old me
Swinging from my tree.

I loved this poem so much. The dark emotions of wanting and impatience and seemingly impossible, and the extreme willingness to get to that love. Great job!

Love it, had a dark feeling to it. Love the way you ended it too!
