A Problem Within

A Problem Within

A Poem by Rachel Anderson
"

Inspired after a car accident in the snow, this poem looks at people from an outsider's perspective.

"
Naturally selfish, but perfectly sane,
The people of Earth do not cry
For anyone else; They are off in themselves
And they will not "haste the day".

They do not belong to any one wrong;
They are at fault with themselves.
And no one will know the mistakes, all untold,
They habitually know so well.

The rest of the world goes through their lives,
Unknowing and so unaware,
While those they don't know,
And never will, are hurting everywhere.

Nobody knows what's happening now,
And most of them don't even care;
Souls are changing and hearts are breaking.
Lives are ending, unfair.

Their lies pour out in perfect sync,
Like a venomous, treacherous kiss;
And yet the whole world, all scattered and torn,
Will move on in ignorant bliss.

Sort of reminds me of something you would hear a random dude at a bar talk about, just when the place gets all silent. And when you hear him, you know to pay attention, cause it ain't selfish when it reminds you of what life is.

Haha, an interesting thing to think of, but yeah, I can see that.
I don`t understand about no one careing.
I am constantly upset over bad news, or
bad things happening to people. I try to
avoid problems and fix the one that are
operable. What do you suggest ?
Let me know what you suggest. OK ?

It's not exactly that if they heard they wouldn't care. It's more like, they don't want to hear. Lik.. read more
