My Engish Teacher's Leaving

My Engish Teacher's Leaving

A Poem by rae52

My english teacher's leaving,
I think it's really poo,
My english teacher's leaving,
What the hell should I do?

My english teacher's leaving,
I'm not even gonna lie,
My english teacher's leaving,
I think I'm gonna cry...

My english teacher's leaving,
What if i don't even scrape a pass?
My english teacher's leaving,
I'm gonna fail my english class...

My english teacher's leaving,
But I'm determined to do her proud!

My english teacher's leaving,
Good bye, I say, out loud.

Aw I would be devastated if my English teacher left in the middle of a semester. All the best teachers I had were my English teachers. I was always sad that I wouldn't see them again after I passed their class. This poem is really good. I like the different spacing in the last four lines of it. I also like the different emotions presented in such a short time. It went from sad, to "oh crap", to panic, to determination, then ending at acceptance. Lol I just realized that sounds like the 5 stages of grief :P Anyways, it's really cool that you fit all that in one poem. You use words that allow anyone to understand what is going on in the poem, and I think that is a very important quality. Relating to your audience is important because then the reader can become emotionally connected and you make a bigger impression on them so they read more of your stuff! Great job :)
