To Poe

To Poe

A Poem by Julie Spade

Infectious leech , lurching and oddly wobbling its' way through the poisoned vein

Taste the immense prey with teeth and strength

bent back at an angle, the metallic material

Strike hard, underneath the eye lid.

Pain and agony

Juice splatter!-A bizarre view, indeed!

New paint breed

Voices ticking , ticking and ticking within my soul

You are decreased that , I know.

May I ask it is you Melancholy , Poe?

What is it you desire to show?

Shall your spirit appear?

Is this how you play intimation by, enlightening the tree boughs?

Snatching the ancient windows?

colliding into pasts! Presents! And intellect futures?!

Engaging the most obscure way!

Ticking , ticking and ticking against the empty room of solitude

Whispers among whispers, screeching advances !

I am enclosed, surrounded...surrounded by the Devil himself.

Ink BLASTS! Ruining the cleansed papyrus .....

Pulling the strands out of my head

Blood scurries onto my eyes

Drops of red plant themselves on my hands...

The mirror says otherwise

Is it you?

The one I have been searching for?

Whistling the tunes

Nevermore..

    Nevermore...

          Nevermore...
