Starved Stomachs

Starved Stomachs

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This poem shows the dark side of humanity and the bad effect of poverty.

"

The eyes were constantly searching,
Searching for the food to quench the appetite.
But the stony passers were ignoring
the hungry mouths, imagining of a bite.

Poverty has become an antagonist,
In the story of starved stomachs.
Each character and himself the protagonist
Just thinks and their thumbs they suck.

The eyes shed bitter tears
And their hearts complained to the Lord,
"O Almighty! Are we lacking in prayers
or had done the deeds so abhorred?"

Unbeatable crying, but still lives the hope
And it will live until breaks the life's rope.

Very moving
Hunger seems to be all around us where ever we live and travell
Old people here
Do they spend money on eating or Heating
They live in cold houses temperatures below freezing wearing hats, coats and gloves.

Nice! I liked the hope at the end, and the God in the middle. I feel like sucks would be more grammatically correct as just suck, but then the rhyme would not be complete, I know. It works either way. Good read, though!

This was real, truthful, and very insightful to the critical condition of our world's hunger. It almost made me cry while I read it in fact. Thank you for sharing this.
