Yours Merry Day

Yours Merry Day

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This is a wish for the birthday of a special one of poet.

"

And here the day comes,
Full of joy and mirth.
Such events betimes rare,
When legends takes birth.

Here this meek poet,
Mere with his paper and pen;
Can bestow blissful blessings,
Only to the image he ken.

O God! Shower your drops
Of boons and benefactions.
Pour down your gifts in his life
And lave him with your protection.'

Enjoy your day, my mate;
And leave no stone unturned-
To achieve an astounding aim
For which you are too concerned.

I don't know many poets who achieve "legend" status. Few are those who are even known in their own lifetimes. So many like John Donne and Emily Dickinson are only known after their deaths. I doubt there are many people who could even name two poet laureates of the United States like Richard Wilbur who just passed away just this October at the age of 96. But I do hope your friend reads this touching honor and tribute.

He's not a legend of poetry, but the legend of my heart. Thank you for your words!

While reading this poem, I wondered about one of my poems "Un Regalo di Vita". I wrote it for my friend on his birthday.
I like this poem. Your poems have easy words and it's easy to understand. This is really awesome about you and your poem. Your friend is really lucky. He got a life in your poem ...that's immortal.

Thank you.
Your admiration and pride for your friend just jumps off the page. I love the line "Such events betimes rare, / When legends takes birth." The different colors you use are interesting. Is the third stanza blue, because, there, you're requesting instead of praising, like you are in stanzas 1, 2, and 4? I like it, it adds just a hint of a solemn tone to an otherwise exuberant poem. This was beautiful and heartwarming! I'm sure your friend is thankful :)
