Sonnet - A Dirge

Sonnet - A Dirge

A Poem by Dirge Graves

Lone ghost-like girl standing against the wall,
you are solitary there without me.
I am passing hours within my pall,
scratching and wailing there like a banshee.
Lone girl, ethereal in the black dress,
you are the only mourner at my grave.
Underneath I long for our last caress,
but within coffin nails I am the slave.
"Breathe a whisper to me", kissing my stone,
you kneel there in moonlight atop me.
"It can't rain all the time", I cry alone,
screaming, wailing to you like a banshee.
Even in my tomb I will think of you.
til in the grave, together, love renew.
