Much Awaited Road

Much Awaited Road

A Poem by Rashi Jain
"

All about Remembering

"

I was on a road,

That I thought would lead me to you,

Stretching my neck to see your sign,

In between those two bent trees,

That was hardly visible from where I was standing,

Not sure if there existed a sign like that.

For my eyes knew their pleasure,

When they used to see yours,

My heart knew it's beats,

When the used to sense yours.

But I then Realized,

It was a dream,

For there was no such road now,

Only a vast barren land,

That carried your dry footprints moving away from me,

For now I know they cannot turn back,

For the soil isn't moist anymore.

"Much Awaited Road" is a very catchy title you've come up with. Liked the way how lovingly it's penned. The real nice feelings of love are well poured down in this poetry.. along with your heartbeats. Nice imagery. Looking forward to reading your work!

You are welcome Rashi.
There is such sadness when reality becomes only a dream. Hope seems lost. This is a sad one.
