Detached

Detached

A Poem by Glee

Seasons come and seasons go

The drought strikes and the rains fall

Problems come and problems go

My heart beats fast and my heart beats slow

Life pleases and life hurts

But my heart remains forever when I know

Am in full control of my world

I can see whatever I want to see

Think whatever I want to think

Feel whatever I want to feel

I can have whatever I want

I choose love

I choose peace

I choose happiness

Am in complete control of my universe

I can take whatever life has to throw at me

You may scold me

You may hit me

You may hate me

But you can’t hurt me

For my heart is forever detached

You may kill my body but you can’t take away my soul

For am a servant on the outside but a king on the inside
