As The Clock Ticks On

As The Clock Ticks On

A Poem by Beckie
"

What it's like to ruminate and suffer from racing thoughts.

"
I'm so tired today,
a constant glance as the clock ticks on.
Struggling along not to stay awake,
my mind races, rattles, and shakes.
Listening to soundscapes,
soothing my senses.
It echoes in my head,
while I'm lying here in my bed.
As the clock ticks on...
Hopefully tomorrow
won't be filled with worry and sorrow.
I need to recharge my batteries,
rise and shine,
and leave this tiredness behind.
...But for now,
I watch as the clock ticks on.

Nicely done. I often wish I had an off button for my brain, usually in the middle of the night!
The poem expresses your feelings very well.
