A Decaying Love

A Decaying Love

A Poem by Elizabeth Mars

Ravishing nightmares

But they were just moldy dreams

Fresh ecstasy

Forms a new reality

A matted mirage

Of luminescent thoughts

A naive little heart

And her dream starts to rot

Dehydrated lover

Tears her innocent heart

Broken little girl

Her utopia torn apart

Velvety love is not what is seems

No hero in white, she holds no belief

No longer persuaded by these plastic fantasies

And the man dressed in white with a trick up his sleeve

Just a little something I had to write for class, let me know what lines you enjoyed and what ones I could do without :)

Thanks a million!

I love every word, beautifully put and sums up how most people change once love and fantasy daydreams are separated.
