Foundation

Foundation

A Poem by Rebecca

Words cannot always express feelings,
But they can get pretty close.
I can't describe this feeling.
But I can get pretty close.

You became my foundation
In a world I found shaky.
And just as I thought I was falling through the cracks
You threw a net.

I know I'm not always pleasant,
But your smile is my goal.
I want to make you laugh and love
Because it makes us whole.

You remain my firm foundation
In a world that can be dim.
But even in a world that gets so black
You manage a light in.

I'm sorry for any pain I've caused.
Ultimately, I'm your friend.
I hope I've shown the support and love
That you've needed over time.

You are my foundation
And through the hysterical, lonely and loving
Moments we've shared,
I hope I'm always here for you.

As your foundation.
