Captured Angel

Captured Angel

A Poem by redhors

A rusted chain

Sunk deep

Into the granite cliff

Overlooking the sea

Holds her from the astral planes

Tethered by a bleeding ankle

She writhes against the rock

Her blonde hair

And delicate features too beautiful

And  tender

For this ferocious helplessness.

Her blood weeps into the thrashing waters

As she fights for freedom

She lost the breath

For screaming

Long ago

Her cries carried along

The wings of her brothers

Feathered pinions beat desperately

Scraping against stone-

She thrusts against the shackle

Her fingers reaching at distant sky

But the rock is patient

And does not understand her glory

He stays rooted

Laughing at her defiance

The imagery is so vivid and the credit goes to you and your word choices... It seems the girl has been bound with an invisible chain and she is unable to break free... We all feel like that girl sometimes in our life, without the heartbreaks and pain all around... I think you have managed to portray a perfect picture of the pain and her longing for freedom... Very well done new frnd...

Sincerely
Dhiman
