A moonless sky reminds me-
Bent and broken branches groan
With the ghosts of leaves-
All the while coyote’s flute
Greets me as I walk in shadows
Along the dry river bed
Between red clay mesa’s,
Feeling only the night’s chill…

There is a Native American feel to this one....and that was even before I listened to the music! Such a somber scene you create...walking through shadows in a dry river bed. Curt, I don't know where this one stems from, but there is something about it that makes me want to hug the words to my heart to keep them warm and safe. This has a very mysterious and almost eerie feel to it. As though searching out spirits in the middle of the night...

Ana, you do not want to meet coyote in the night... he is a trickster and often his tricks are very dangerous... best to stay inside your bed roll with it all zipped up... lol... these spirits are often looking for you... do you have spirits roaming where you go to camp???

I have always wanted to walk in this dry river bed in Navajo res... sleep under the stars atop a mesa, listen to kokpeli's flute... and yes I think this is eerie and mysterious living in with the ghosts there...
