Where The Ocean Eats The Stars

While sitting on this sandy beach,

taking in the night’s breeze,

counting grains of sand

in rhythm to the ocean waves,

I see you standing on the horizon

where sea and stars meet.

The ocean is calm tonight,

yesterday’s storm

has moved away

leaving a coconut tasting breeze

and fantasies of your kiss

that fills my heart with unease

and salty anticipation.

As the tides move in

and I watch its foamy waters recede,

I can’t help wonder

what it would be like

to hold your hand

out on that horizon

where the sea eats up the stars.

dearest Curt.... you have touched the Stars and
found the music of the Ocean as it wanders in the
Moon's glow. I have discovered the essence of
romance and the dance. Beautiful words and sweet as Coconut
breezes. truly, Pat

I love this one! The title is off the charts, the way it conjures up a vivid mental picture. So much imaginative imagery: "coconut-tasting breeze" . . . "foamy waters recede" . . . I love the romantic longing here & I would very much like to be the lady whose kisses you are dreaming about! *wink! wink!* (((HUGS)))

All life's cares vanish when reading romantic and lovely works like yours. You watch and create images, saving those snapshots for the ages. Combined with the classics, they add musicality that echoes and never overwhelms...:)............

yes, he does create wonderful music, one of my favourites. always happy to visit!
When yesterday's storms vanish and all you can taste is the romance of the sea air with that coconut tang, well, you are in love. "Where the sea eats up the stars"....how often I have watched the sun being eaten by the horizon and fantasized. Oh, Curt, this is my new favorite of yours. Incredible! Lydi**
