... a Friday night romantic...

The Best of Me

Comes From The Best of You

Why is it that

those sappy,

over the top,

love stories,

make you feel human,

even special?

Like being in a Nicholas Sparks movie,

the one where the Cowboy Junkies

are singing, “Sweet, Sweet Jane”

and you are swaying in my arms

as we dance

in front of the fire place,

and all the harshness of life

has faded into the sweet smile

I see on your lips

and the sparkle in your eyes.

It feels like a warm spring day

As you melt into me,

Furs, swords, shields, and arrows

abandoned

for the softness of flesh

flush with touch

and all the while,

the romantic sounds of “Sweet, Sweet Jane

weave the air with rosemary, rue,

and the scent of you.

You, are the best of me.

Your old-fashioned sentimentality is shining thru here. Your way of being romantic is so different than my own life experience, I really enjoy thinking about how it must be for others unlike me. You draw a lovely scenario that I think most people would really long to know in their lives (((HUGS)))

awwww this is the sweet to go with the heat.. I am a chocolate kinda girl and love spice, but warm tender vanilla moments are very nice sometimes... gives you the fuzzy feeling inside.. nice indeed!
