Vivian, Queen of the Living Dead

Vivian, Queen of the Living Dead

A Poem by Cahjli Symes

Falling in my sleep, as I vomit out my teeth
With a noose around my neck; chilling, dangling in the depths

The cold air past my hair
From a presence that's not here

Haunting me in my sleep
To the point I can't eat

My stomach full of gasoline
You lit the torch and then I breathe

Engulfed in flames
Beneath this sea

Drowned in with silence
Blinded by violence

As a vulture came and
Swept its prey

My rib cage now a hollow shell
As your mind is locked within a cell

Thinking of you
Is a living hell

Now we're strangers
Its hard to tell.

You show some very strong emotions here. I like how you aren't afraid of going into the dark and tortured aspects of a breakup. That's very bold and unusual.
The poem is both sad and creepy at the same time, which is an unusal combination; well done! And it has such a voodoo vibe. It seems like you were under her spell, being her zombie.
I also like the flow you've created, it has a very nice rhythm. :)
