Alone with a Cup Of Wine

Alone with a Cup Of Wine

A Poem by Herl Rodrin
"

Searching for companion.

"

Along the dancing grasses in that cold night,

I am alone with a bottle of wine sitting on the ground.

As I raised the glass, I asked the stars to drink with me,

Hoping those luminous heavenly bodies descends and

tag along with me.

But they never noticed my act; neglected my invitation.

I begged and pleaded, for them to be my companion.

Too bad I’ve just wasted my time; it has no used.

As they continue to go and choose to refused.

The moon glanced at me and unveiled his mask.

Showing empathy and kindness which I didn’t asked.

But when I offered the generous one a silver cup to drink,

He smiled, shook his head then turned away and winked.

I sighed and been embraced by the smokeless strong breeze.

Depressions rhythmically moved insanely with in that purple field.

With my every little sipped, I feel the lonesomeness

And as I watched the flowers swaying I’m touched by solitariness.

I summoned the crickets, chirping firmly in that frigid night.

For them to come along with me and watched me fight.

In the battle of loneliness which I am locked

For I want felicity to achieve and be back!

Then I decided to put the cold pot of wine aside.

They gathered around and that made me smile

Some jumped on my lap and others sat on my side.

Happiness invades the core of my fiery soul even for awhile.

Now I couldn’t hear the sporadically hooting of the owl.

As my spirit started to rest and experience the silence.

I let loneliness be eaten by insects that crawl.

Hoping to delightfully adore life with its little absence

I threw the empty bottle of wine in the air.

Then slowly closed my eyes and be ruled by serenity

Wishing when I wake up everybody will be fair

And show a kind of sympathy which accepts my own identity.

No tips needed here, this is perfect. It flow's with grace, and shows a hint of being absolutely beautiful. Almost makes me want to find you and bring my bottle of port along for the ride. I love how you incorporated the moon and the stars. I just loved this piece or poem, or what ever they would like to call it.
