Not the World to Me

Not the World to Me

A Poem by if i were a season i'd be winter

I should have seen it coming

Should have heard the scream

Of the car when the tires slipped

You were trying to end it for me

You were aiming for that tree

Paramedics all around

People all leaned in to see

The ruin that lay before their eyes

The rubble you created

The dying form of me

You're not the world to me

And you don't mean anything

Because you're not the one for me

I hope that's not what you think

I never felt it coming

Never even knew the fear

That preceded the knife you held

You were trying to end it for me

You didn't just slip and fall

Doctor's rushing all around

Nurses crying out in disgust

At the puddle on their spotless form

The stain you left behind

The dying form of me

You're not the world to me

And you don't mean anything

Because you're not the one for me

I hope that's not what you think

You didn't see it coming

Didn't care to see the storm

That carried the acid it rained

I was trying to end it for you

It wasn't just a natural burn

Policemen running to catch me now

Reporters all writing it down

About the tragedy I left you as

The death I invented

The ending that is you

You're not the world to me

And you don't mean anything

Because you're not the one for me

I hope that's not what you think

I don't regret it

This isn't my pain

I don't regret it

These aren't real tears

Running down my face

You are the world to me

And you mean everything

You were always the one for me

At least that's what you think.
