Three score Years and Ten

Three score Years and Ten

Aging population?

"

          Life Extension

When I was a boy the average life for men,

Was a total of three score years and ten.

Their retirement was achieved at sixty-five

Allowing five relaxed years to stay alive.

Their body was destroyed in various ways

A result of the hard labor of working days

Eyesight had failed and to add to their grief

Many had lost a large amount of their teeth.

How times have changed, now life has extended

Men now live much longer than Nature intended

Is this a good thing? or does it produce strain

Does a body co- operate with an aging brain?

If you're old and immobile and can't take care of yourself

You'll resemble an object that has been left on the shelf

That is certainly not living so I'll repeat once again

Let's go back to the lifespan of "Three score and ten"

Hmmm, my mum is 82 and as knackered as she is and as ill as she gets she keeps on hanging in there. Life is so fleeting and precious.
Good morning Rod
