TO G.H.

TO G.H.

A Poem by Marie
"

To the love of my life...

"

You aren’t my hope,

Only my sorrow;

Loving you means

No brighter tomorrow.

You aren’t the joy

That comes after pain;

Never the rainbow,

Only the rain.

Meaningful and original approach! It was short but said everything. Nice writing!!!!!

Obviously a love so strong to provoke such feelings of despair. Powerful.
Well done! :)

Finding love doesn’t mean finding forever… Nothing is sadder than the love that cannot be.

i really like this...loving you is only from afar....sort of like how dickinson was autonomous..yet had fantasies of lovers...

I forgot about Emily D., but she would have beeen a good example.
Wow. That is powerful. I can't know what this poem means to you, but it spoke to me about the broken heart which love sometimes brings. I loved the poem.

Admittedly, I'm a bit dense, so I had to read this a few times. When I read it and it "clicked", the realization that the first verse is about your love when alive and the second about your love that passed punched me in the face like a sledgehammer.

It makes me think of what my life would be like, if I lost the love of my life.

Thank you for making me cry! LOL!

Well .. I sure feel like an idiot. That said, the piece is still beautiful.
