death

death

A Poem by just take a breath

when i was a young child

i had two eyes that blinked...

a nose

and a smile that grew big, but discreet.

when i was a young girl, i was hurt

my heart broken... shattered

memories played over and over, my head it burned

when i was a young woman, addicted

the toxic fumes of alcohol...

the mixture of pills...

police restricted.

i was cursed.

an old human being i am now

life has gone by

no loved ones are here...

no one to say goodbye.

i lay my head down on this hospital bed

i close my eyes shut, no tears left to shed

my screams of pain, gone with the rest

and now i am ready,

ready for death.

Thats a very good poem, about life, and lost chances, but although like most poems it's emotional, yet it wasn't really what the contest was about.
I'm sorry, it is an exceptional poem. thank you
