Dark Wolves

Dark Wolves

A Poem by Rogie-Dodge

They're hiding in the shadows of my mind.
Lurking.
Prowling.
Dark wolves stalking their prey.

I hear them in the depths of the night.
Pacing.
Growling.
Surrounding me.  Closing in ever tightening circles.

I feel their breath as they whisper to me.
Accusing.
Convincing.
Speaking to me with my own voice

They pounce at the first sign of weakness.
Suffocating.
Devouring.
Their deathly white teeth tearing at my soul.

I don't have the will to push them away
Resigning
Surcumbing
There's no escape: My thoughts never leave me

A write most can relate to...
Wanting to runaway and escape... and we do try.
But how can one runaway from his/her own mind?
