Slivers Of The Past

Slivers Of The Past

A Poem by Rogerh

My past always seems to haunt me.

Slivers Of The Past

Slivers of the past under my nails

Pain brought forth with each fail

Haunting me like Freddy in my dreams

Unrealistic goals splitting at the seams

Cried tears I should and shouldn't have cried

Falling through a window, time to fly

More behind me than before me I cannot last

Dashed hopes upon the riptides of my past
