SMOKER PART -2

SMOKER PART -2

A Poem by Chandler bing
"

What happens afterwards to that smoker.

"
                                                        SMOKER PART-2
When he was happy he smoked,
When he was sad he smoked,
His want for education was also ultimately stoked,
That box of cigarette was his most prized possession,
he smoked his way even through recession,
When the times were hard and the days were harder,
It was quite strange but his rings went even farther,
His cancer machine was a part of his personality,
Gone were the days when he behaved cordially,
He smoked away with glory and pride,
He knew if he didn't quit soon he would eventually die,
That habit which began during school had come a long way,
He always said this is my last one and I am quitting today,
But he couldn't the lust of just one drag remained forever,
till he was carried to his grave that fateful November.

**Hey everyone "NEVER EVER EVER RESORT TO SMOKING" because there are always people who love you and life is already short by smoking you make that time even more shorter**.

Very powerful and compelling. Graphic and from the gut. Cancer Machine... ugh.
But its reach to me is farther than smoking, it makes me ask, what are my equivalent to cigarettes, you know, we all have this or that thing, that we run to, out of some familiarity or comfort. Here in the poem, smoking holds the promise of life, even thought it really really bad for you. So oddly, smoking fulfills some need, even one proud, so seen that way, the smoker appears to be taking care of him or herself. But the warning is that it will kill you. So this dilemma ensues... with in the mind, between these two competing needs. Good stuff Chan...
