The State

The State

A Poem by Ruth

The same bitter taste on your lips when you reach your limit
Almost casual but this time it's different
No feelings to be felt, no valid words to be said
You unconsciously put on a mask and blend with it
Fooling your own self for a moment
The state of complete worthlessness and emptiness
Like something very important is missing
You know what it is but not how to change it
So you wash off the bitter taste and move on
Looking through the window and seeing nothing
Waiting for something that's not coming
Hoping and expecting - you told yourself you wouldn't do it
It doesn't work that way, you know this
Not being able to look forward and be happy about it
Continuously questioning the same thing
- - -
It's quiet around here
Look up briefly
You can almost feel the Earth moving
Slowly

Pretty simple writing. I write when I feel like it during my free time. Nothing special but thought about sharing some stuff, it would be cool to hear other people's comments. more..
