The kings

The kings

A Poem by Ryan Robinson
"

Monarchy is dated.

"
The bukowski fanboys would murder me
For I refuse to capitalize the name of their king.

Kings aren't capitalized,
First letters of the sentence are capitalized.

It's why Kerouac and Ginsberg and Ferlinghetti
and Corso and Burroughs all deserve capitals.

Without the beats there would be no bukowski
no wallace no pynchon no delillo no thompson.

No future of revolutionaries,
finding new ways to tell old stories.
