The Lady from Ghent

The Lady from Ghent

A Poem by Susan S.
"

Ah enterprise!

"

There was a young lady from Ghent
Whose dresses were big as a tent
She'd stitch the arms tight
And starch them all night
Then cut out a door and she'd rent!

Now I am very good a visualisations, so you can imagine, that reading this made me laughing out loud!
Well, either you are Belgian, or you know the country very well!
About tent dresses and cutting out a door ... Hmm, yes, in my view, she should be paying rent!
Is it a house or is it a dress?
Very good question!
Highly entertaining!

Cute.
I think you have a typo there in Line 2. You have "Who's" which is a contraction of the words "who" and "is". You may want to edit it to be "whose" instead.

Funny!

But I'm from Boise, not Ghent ...

Really clever! I loved the way this tripped off the tongue. I still think you must be Ogden Nash's spiritual heir. You make a limerick seem easy, when it's nothing of the kind. And this was so much fun to read.
