The Daydreamer

The Daydreamer

A Poem by Sadani Atapattu
"

To relieve from day to day busy life, we sometimes stay idle creating stories up in the mind which is called daydreaming.

"

Lying in silence alone

Or staring away afar

In a world not the world before eyes

One invoked only in dreams

Whilst awake in sunshine

A story that goes on

Of things of now and then

Things impossible as fantasy

A kingdom of love and mystery

The way I want I create

A world exquisite

One can only be dreamed of

And forever I would long

Yet futile in reality

Just daydreaming away

To quench the thirst

For the glory of happiness

Amidst the dreary truth
