A Poem by Sadbh
"

a coming to terms with someone you were never meant to be with

"
You seek the stars.
You have never outright
Told me this, but i see it
In your face, when you talk about life
In your hands, when you gesture excitedly about Us
In your words, as they blanket me in love and undeserving affection.

You lust after the moon and mars
And then you'll stare at me, a question lingering on your lips.
I'll see the reflection of the sun in your eyes
And it will break my heart
Because I belong with the sea.

I want to be dragged to the bottom of Atlantic
I seek to be struggling for oxygen
Deprived and light headed and delirious.
I want to be crushed by the pressure
Of gallons of briny water on all sides.

Its almost humorous to me that your head is
Filled with stardust, that wonderment makes you dizzy and
Undoubtedly, you have been encompassed with light
While I can only feel the poison in my veins
Taking the form of salt, salt.

Something aches within me, knowing that
Our days are numbered, our paths had never meant to align,
We were never meant to meet, with our own
Desperate searches leading us in opposite directions
But I will never regret knowing you,

Because with you, innocence comes in a different form
That contrasts my very own branch of sinning
In its own delicious and fulfilling way.
But while you seek freedom,
And the liberty to search the universe
I will always crave consumption.

Author's Note

Sadbh
Um, this is really incohesive, so I'm sorry about that. I edited it and everything, but this is just something that spilled out of me, so I'm not sure if it makes any sense. Basically about the limitations I feel about being with someone who's mentally stable, while having an anxiety disorder. So yeah, leave a review if you want, I'll greatly appreciate it xx

I love this. Especially this part:
"You lust after the moon and mars
And then you'll stare at me, a question lingering on your lips.
I'll see the reflection of the sun in your eyes
And it will break my heart
Because I belong with the sea."
I think this is a fantastic example of being with someone and knowing there is a ticking time bomb on your relationship. That eventually it's going to end. But being too afraid to let go because you love this person fully even with everything standing in the way of both your happiness. It's very bittersweet & beautiful. Keep writing!

I've been on this site awhile and there haven't been many times, where a poem or a story has my full attention. But your poems have, you have a beautiful way of writing, full of meaning and different ways of describing emotion. Brilliant, well done!!
