2016

In this short poem, I have tried to personify the year 2016 as a monster and the ending of the poem heralds the new year and hope.

You lay there in waiting
Your powerful tentacles
stealthily stealing life;
You scattered seeds of devastation,
Now halted in growth,
By the certainty of your goodbye
